The rehabilitation and conservation of architectural heritage aims to recover and preserve the history of buildings, not only on an aesthetic level but also taking into account their documentary, historical and, therefore, cultural value.
Preserving the past means preserving the legacy of our ancestors, of a city or a town. A legacy that is the result of a history, beliefs, experiences, that shows what the people of that place were like, that gives them an identity.
To conserve also implies making it known, so that both current and future generations can enjoy and disseminate the heritage, through observation, visit, study or new uses in the rehabilitated buildings.
